Development of Design Build Retail projects has been, and continues to be, a major focus for Carnegie throughout Ohio and several neighboring states. Carnegie prides itself on its historical success at developing multiple sites in remote locations simultaneously in any given period. In recent years the company typically has between five and ten projects in the pre-construction or construction phases at any one time, often totaling more than one million square feet.

Carnegie’s portfolio in Ohio spans more than 60 Ohio communities with projects ranging from 4,000 SF up to 860,000 SF; and from one-half acre sites up to 500 acre sites.  In addition, Carnegie has developed, or is developing, commercial projects in 13 states from Arizona to Indiana and Ohio to Florida.  The majority of Carnegie’s projects are newly developed shopping centers and Mixed Use Projects with a life-style component that include office and special use tenants; anchored by one or more national tenants.  Generally, these projects will involve out parcels and require flexible, thoughtful designs to accommodate the ever changing requirements of users. In addition, Carnegie has represented and been a preferred developer for several notable small, medium, and big box National Retailers, in certain markets, where multiple stores were desired. Carnegie is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.

Carnegie’s retail and life-style center projects are anchored by notable tenants such as Target, Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, Super Kmart, Sofa Express, Marshall’s, Lowe’s, Dress Barn, Kohl’s, Barnes & Noble, Regal Cinema, Cinemark, Giant Eagle, Jo-Ann Fabrics, OfficeMax, Sears, Circuit City, Best Buy, H.H. Gregg, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Toys R Us, Ethan Allen Furniture, Marc’s Deep Discount, ALDI Foods, National City Bank, Hollywood Video and many other national retail tenants.
