Carnegie began development of environmental facilities in 1989 by partnering with several national auto-emissions testing companies. In Arizona there are 14 sites with a total of 150,000 SF in the Phoenix and Tucson areas. In Broward County, Florida, there are six sites with a total of 70,000 SF.

In Carnegie’s home state, we completed 13 facilities in the four southern Ohio Counties that surround the greater Cincinnati area. This project, which won the 1996 "Award for Excellence" from the Ohio Building Industry Associates for design and use of masonry, served as a prototype for future projects in urban markets that require emission testing. These larger Enhanced AIM Facilities conduct IM240 testing and are known as "E-Checks".  They total approximately 150,000 SF.

Other Special Use Facilities

Among our numerous special-use projects, Carnegie counts several preschool and daycare centers ranging in size from 3,000 SF to 33,000 SF. They include the highly acclaimed, non-profit Westshore Montessori School in Westlake, Ohio as well as Scribes and Scribblers Child Development Center, the largest day care center in the State of Ohio, with approximately 325 children.  It operates on its own 10-acre campus in Middleburg Heights, Ohio, a southwestern suburb of Cleveland.
