Valerie Tolbert is currently the In-House Council for Carnegie Management & Development Corporation.

Born in Canton, Ohio, Valerie attended the University of Akron where she received her Bachelor of Science in Political Science/Criminal Justice, December 1993, with a minor in Sociology and Psychology and an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice (Cum Laude).  She obtained her law degree from Capital University Law School and was admitted to the Ohio Bar in January 1997.  She was also admitted to practice in the United States District Court, Northern District of Ohio in 1999. 

Valerie joined Carnegie Management and Development Corporation in 2008.  Prior to joining Carnegie, Valerie had been a Partner with the law firm of Zollinger, D’Atri, Gruber, Thomas & Company, located in North Canton, Ohio.  During her ten years at the firm, she practiced in the area of real estate law and represented builders, developers, realtors, buyers and sellers in various residential and commercial real estate matters. 

Valerie’s real estate expertise includes assisting clients in completing 1031 Tax-Deferred Exchanges and Reverse 1031 Tax-Deferred Exchanges, representing builders and developers in submitting real estate to the Ohio Condominium Statute in Medina, Stark, and Summit Counties, and representing both commercial and residential property owners in leasing issues that included Forcible Entry and Detainer actions, among others.  She also assists numerous Condominium Homeowners’ Associations in the collection of delinquent assessments and other legal issues surrounding condominiums as well as representing creditors in collection matters such as foreclosure actions and various repossession matters.  Valerie has represented both Buyers and Sellers in purchasing and selling real estate as well as assisting clients in regards to zoning matters.    She also represented several villages in the Stark County area and handled the legal issues on their behalf.

Valerie is a member of the Stark County Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association, Stark County Association of REALTORS Property Management Committee and the American Bar Association.
