It began in 1984 as a Design-Build company, that has since expanded into a full service real estate development and management company, with its focus on long term asset-based growth. Carnegie has developed more than 214 ground up buildings and owns a large, diverse portfolio of specialty design-built properties, having more than 400 tenants, in 13 States, in 126 locations. The United States Government has awarded Carnegie several projects on design/build basis via the SFO procurement process. These projects are leased to agencies from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Internal Revenue Service, Social Security Administration, as well as the Alcohol, Tobacco, Tax and Trade Bureau.

At Carnegie's inception it was headquartered at University Circle in its first new development project, the nine story University Cedar Medical Office Building. Carnegie's mission was to build custom designed properties constructed for the specific Tenants needs. This responsive approach to development expanded the company into a full-service real estate development and management company, with its focus on long term asset-based growth. The Company utilizes the professional expertise of its staff, affiliates and consultants to pursue the feasibility studies, financing, governmental approvals, as well as marketing and leasing required to successfully complete the projects.
